Create NetApp ONTAP 9.1 CIFS Share

In previous post, I already configure the CIFS Protocol. So next we will create a volume and share it to Windows client.

Click on SVMs.

Click on SVM that you created.

Click on Volumes.

Click on Create.

Enter the Name.

Select the Aggregate.

Select the Storage Type.

Set the Size.

Click Create.

Below show the example configuration.

The volume is successfully created.

Below show the created volume.

Next we will share the volume. To configure the Share, click on the Shares Tab.

Click on Create Share.

Browse the folder.

Share Name will be follow the folder name..

Click Create.

Below show the example configuration.

Share is successfully created.

Below show the created Share.

Have a look at Share Access Control Section, we can seethe the share is granted for Everyone.

At this moment I will left it to everyone. 🙂

Now lets open the shared in the windows client.

Below show the shared folder have been access from the windows client.

When the Username and Password prompted. Used any user in the Active Directory to access the shared.
